september bee blocks
we are in our third month of the bee, and it is now debbie’s turn. debbie blogs at quilting makes my heart sing
she chose the churn dash for her block. i had never made it before, but have really been wanting to. i loved it! it was pretty quick and easy too.
debbie wanted medium colors, not too light, but not primary either. i pulled these fabrics that i have been hoarding and asked for approval, lol. luckily, she thought they were great
she provided this tutorial for us to use: http://www.aquiltinglife.com/2014/03/12-churn-dash-block-tutorial.html
in the tutorial, the center block is a third, completely different fabric, but debbie provided examples of her own blocks, and it was easy to see she wanted hers to match the background
here are mine…they will be in the mail and on the way to her tomorrow!
perhaps next time i will have to do a little experimenting with the directional fabrics. hopefully she won’t mind too much
i’m swapping september supernova blocks with ashlee tomorrow, so i will blog about those soon!
